From September 2009, the Practice Groups for CCP members will be replaced by CLINICAL PRACTICE GROUPS.

Feedback has shown us that the widest held desire from this slot is a Clinical Practice Group, with specific reference to the Case Studies requirement for Registration. These peer-lead groups will provide a supplement to, not a replacement of, peoples’ existing Clinical Supervision and are intended to fulfil peoples’ thirst for ongoing modality specific discussion and support, relevant to their case studies and research ideas.

Note: Attendance can be counted as Continuing Professional Development. It is your responsibility to obtain a signature from the Group Leader on your CPD Log.

From September 2009, the Research Interest Groups for CCP members will be re-branded as RESEARCH STUDY GROUPS

The change of name for this service is to emphasise that the purpose of the groups is to support trainee and accredited psychotherapists to meet their Masters level study and project requirements in research for Registration as a Psychotherapist with BeeLeaf and UKCP.

To this end, we will be bringing in two experienced researchers as new Group Leaders with a variety of experience in NHS and other sites of psychotherapy research, offering support of a range of research methods and studies relevant to psychotherapy, and with a passion to support Psychotherapists to learn about and achieve credible research in their field, with a view to publication in relevant journals.

The core themes of the RSGs will be the projects and proposals of trainees and members. Suggested research papers for group study will usually be nominated by trainees as relevant to their projects. Group Leaders will also be available to advise and reassure regarding the steps to complete a proposal and project and to facilitate peer support and discussion in these endeavours.

Note: Attendance can be counted as Continuing Professional Development. It is your responsibility to obtain a signature from the Group Leader on your CPD Log.

Re-launch of Saturday groups

We have been taking extensive feedback through many channels regarding the Saturday Groups for members and are relaunching this service with comprehensive changes in response to member needs and desires. We can assure that all feedback is regarded by BeeLeaf to be significant and helpful and our staff have had several meetings over the last few months figuring out what has made attendance low and how the groups have not been meeting their objectives.

From September 2009 the groups will be taking on two dynamic new formulae that are intensely focussed on prioritising the needs of the students and members and upholding the identity and purpose of BeeLeaf and CCP as a community serving best standards in psychotherapy training, provision and development. We have received some excellent suggestions from trainees and members about changes, big and small, and these will be incorporated into the new structure of the groups. Please do your part to make these new services work for all.
